Outpatient Mental Health Treatment: Why Choose Us?
At El Paso Behavioral Health System, our outpatient mental health programs combine structured support with the flexibility of living at home. We care for adults (ages 18+) and children and adolescents (ages 5 to 17) using evidence-based therapies. Our compassionate staff helps participants build healthy coping skills to manage depression, anxiety, trauma and co-occurring substance use disorders.
Recovery looks different for everyone. That’s why we tailor treatment to each person’s needs, experiences and background. We also do our best to make care easier to access, so you can recover and thrive.
At our outpatient mental health programs, you’ll find:
- Bilingual providers: Many members of our staff are fluent in both English and Spanish, so patients and families can receive care in the language they prefer.
- Daily meals: Participants in our outpatient programs enjoy breakfast and lunch each day, catered by popular local restaurants.
- More insurance options: We accept Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE® and most commercial insurance plans. Our staff verifies your coverage and helps you understand your benefits.
What Is Outpatient Treatment?
Outpatient treatment provides structured therapy and support while allowing you to live at home and stay connected with family and friends. You may step down to an outpatient program after inpatient treatment, or begin recovery in an outpatient program if you don’t need 24/7 supervision. Our continuum of care helps you receive the level of support you need at every stage of recovery.
Outpatient treatment includes:
- Group therapy
- Medication management
- Psychoeducation and skills-building sessions
- Physician and nurse consultations
Outpatient mental health treatment for adults
We offer partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) for adults with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. We have dedicated groups for women and active-duty military members and veterans, as well as for people with more complex mental health issues such as psychosis and schizoaffective disorder. Outpatient mental health treatment for children and teens
We are among the few providers in El Paso offering inpatient and outpatient treatment for kids as young as 5 years old. Our outpatient programs for children, adolescents and teens provide engaging, age-appropriate therapies that help young people build healthy coping skills and emotional regulation.
Each program also includes daily academic support to help your child stay on track in school. Learn more about our outpatient mental health programs for children and adolescents.
