Women’s Mental Health Outpatient Program

Women’s Mental Health Outpatient Program

Women’s Outpatient Program

Outpatient care is individualized, planned just for you. Psychiatrists, licensed therapists and registered nurses will all work together on your care team. You’ll see a psychiatrist weekly to help you manage medications and make real progress. Our comprehensive discharge planning will smooth your path to the next level of care.

Outpatient treatment programs at El Paso Behavioral Health System offer a level of care for patients in need of an intensive, structured, daily therapeutic environment without the 24-hour care of inpatient treatment. Our specialty women-only outpatient programs help patients progress in their recovery after an inpatient stay, or can prevent the initial need for inpatient treatment.

Our women’s outpatient programs promote physical, social, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional development. Patients receive a combination of group counseling, family, and individual therapy, a psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and treatment planning.

Outpatient care may consist of partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment. A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a less intensive level of care than an inpatient program, while still allowing for a high degree of structure in treatment. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) treatment is a step-down in intensity from PHP, allowing the patient to return to their home and community settings between therapy sessions.

A women-only setting in our women’s clinic in El Paso, TX, creates a secure, nurturing environment, giving women the chance to process intimate and highly personal issues. Our licensed therapists use evidence-based curricula to address women’s specific needs. An emphasis is placed on biological, hormonal, psychological and social factors that increase women’s susceptibility to trauma and mental health disorders.

Mental Health & Reproductive Issues

Motherhood, childrearing and pregnancy can bring about a number of behavioral health issues for women. Our program provides specialized care for women who need help as they deal with being a new mom, as they struggle with fertility issues or as they overcome the loss of a baby.

Our women’s crisis center allows women to openly discuss and get treatment for mental health issues brought on by reproductive difficulties, including, but not limited to, loss of a pregnancy, postpartum depression, psychosis, breastfeeding, infertility, and menopause. Our staff helps to promote a warm, receptive environment for women to seek restoration and support through these difficult times.
