Children and teens with behavioral or emotional problems may struggle at school and at home. An anxiety disorder or other behavioral health condition could be putting obstacles in your child’s way.
Mental health problems in children and teenagers are surprisingly common in today’s complicated world. They can interfere with a young person’s development, relationships and daily life. Fortunately, there are a variety of treatment options that can help keep life in balance. Our experienced professionals offer smart, hopeful solutions in a secure environment.
Outpatient treatment programs at El Paso Behavioral Health System offer a level of care for patients in need of an intensive, structured, daily therapeutic environment without the 24-hour care of inpatient treatment. Our specialty child and adolescent outpatient programs help patients progress in their recovery after an inpatient stay, or prevent the initial need for inpatient treatment.
Our child and adolescent outpatient programs promote physical, social, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional development in youth. Patients receive a combination of group counseling, family, and individual therapy, a psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and treatment planning.
We help young people ages 5 to 17—as well as their families—learn to cope with behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, substance abuse and other mental health challenges.
Our adolescent and children’s outpatient program is individualized and planned just for your child or teen. Child psychiatrists, licensed therapists and registered nurses will all work together on their care team. Your child will see a psychiatrist weekly to help you manage medications and make real progress. Our comprehensive discharge planning will smooth the path to the next level of care.
Outpatient treatment for children and outpatient treatment for adolescents is offered Monday through Friday, from 10:15 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. at our main campus.
